The second Normandy World Peace Forum will be held on 4th and 5th June 2019 in Caen, at the Abbaye-aux-Dames, before the commemorations to mark the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings on 6th June 1944 and the Battle of Normandy.

This forum is an annual opportunity for reflection and discussion on tensions around the world and peace-building. It is led by experts in geopolitics, alongside representatives of States, the academic world and civil society.

The 2019 World Forum, focused on the theme of “The Peacemakers”, will include conferences, debates, a Village for Peace and highlights for young people. The first edition brought together more than 5,000 people and internationally renowned public figures, including Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary General of the UN, Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former Prime Minister and Antonio Tajani, President of the European Parliament.

The Normandy World Peace Forum is also a laboratory for sustainable peace with initiatives, certified projects and events all year long to promote the values of peace and freedom.
